Yes. Although Elite Edge is physically located in Valencia, we work with youth and high school athletes from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. No. Elite Edge is specifically designed around athlete development. Rather than simply giving athletes workouts to complete, our coaches teach proper movement mechanics and progressively develop speed, strength, power, conditioning, coordination, and athletic confidence.

Elite Edge uses a structured long-term athlete development system instead of relying on random workouts or one-size-fits-all training. Athletes progress through age- and development-appropriate programs while our coaches monitor movement quality, performance, recovery, and progress over time. The goal is not simply to make athletes tired. The goal is to help them become better athletes.

Ages and Programs

Elite Edge provides sports performance training for youth, middle school, and high school athletes ages 8 and up. Our B.I.G. — Best In Game — Athlete Development System progresses athletes through different stages based on their age, experience, physical development, and training needs.

B.I.G. stands for Best In Game. It is Elite Edge's structured athlete development pathway designed to introduce the right training concepts at the right stage of an athlete's development. Younger athletes build movement skills, coordination, confidence, and body awareness. As athletes progress, training becomes more focused on strength, speed, power, conditioning, and advanced athletic performance.

No. Many athletes begin Elite Edge with little or no formal strength-training experience. Coaches teach proper technique, movement mechanics, and training fundamentals before athletes progress to more advanced exercises. Training is adjusted to the athlete's current ability rather than expecting every athlete to start at the same level.

Yes. Older and more experienced athletes can progress into advanced strength, speed, power, plyometric, and conditioning training designed to prepare them for the increased demands of varsity, collegiate, and higher-level competition.

Sports Performance Training

Elite Edge works with athletes from a wide variety of sports, including football, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, track and field, tennis, wrestling, and other competitive sports. Our training develops physical qualities that transfer across sports, including speed, strength, power, coordination, movement efficiency, conditioning, and durability.

Elite Edge develops the physical qualities athletes need to perform better in their sport. We do not replace an athlete's technical sport coach. Instead, we complement sport practice by developing the athlete's physical foundation, including strength, speed, acceleration, power, movement quality, conditioning, and resilience.

Yes. Speed development is an important part of the Elite Edge training system. Athletes learn acceleration, sprint mechanics, body positioning, force production, change of direction, coordination, and other movement skills that contribute to athletic speed.

Yes. Strength development is introduced progressively based on an athlete's age, experience, movement ability, and readiness. Younger athletes focus heavily on movement quality, body control, proper technique, and foundational strength before progressing into more advanced resistance training.

Elite Edge strength training is designed to improve athletic performance, not bodybuilding. Training focuses on developing useful strength, power, movement efficiency, coordination, and force production that can help athletes run, jump, change direction, and compete more effectively.

Explosive power is one of the athletic qualities developed through Elite Edge training. Depending on the athlete's age and development level, training may include jumping, sprinting, medicine-ball work, strength exercises, plyometrics, and other methods designed to improve an athlete's ability to produce force quickly.

Elite Edge places a strong emphasis on proper movement mechanics, strength development, body control, mobility, recovery, and progressive training. While no training program can guarantee that an athlete will never be injured, building a stronger and more physically prepared athlete can help them better tolerate the demands of practices and competition.

Training During the Sports Year

Many athletes can continue sports performance training during their competitive season. Training frequency, volume, and intensity may be adjusted around practices, games, tournaments, school demands, and recovery. The goal during the season is to support performance without unnecessarily adding fatigue.

The off-season provides athletes with an opportunity to focus on physical qualities that can be more difficult to develop during a busy competitive schedule. This can include building strength, improving speed mechanics, increasing power, improving conditioning, correcting movement limitations, and preparing the athlete for the next season.

Most athletes benefit from consistent training multiple times per week, but the right frequency depends on the athlete's age, sport schedule, training experience, competition calendar, and recovery. Elite Edge coaches help parents determine an appropriate training schedule for their athlete.

Assessments and Progress Tracking

Every new athlete begins with a free athlete assessment. The assessment gives our coaches an opportunity to evaluate how the athlete moves, establish a starting point, understand their experience and goals, and determine which Elite Edge program is the best fit.

The assessment looks at important athletic qualities such as movement mechanics, coordination, speed, strength, and overall physical development. Athletes can also experience the Elite Edge training environment while coaches evaluate how they move, learn, and respond to coaching. Parents then receive recommendations for the athlete's next stage of development.

Elite Edge athletes complete periodic performance assessments so coaches, athletes, and parents can see how performance changes over time. Depending on the athlete and program, assessments may evaluate areas such as strength, speed, power, movement quality, and overall athletic development. The results also help coaches make better training decisions moving forward.

Yes. One of the goals of the Elite Edge assessment system is to give both athletes and parents a clearer picture of progress over time instead of relying only on how difficult a workout feels. Performance benchmarks help demonstrate where an athlete started, where they are now, and what they should continue working toward.

Recovery and Complete Athlete Development

Yes. Elite Edge uses athlete readiness and wellness information to better understand factors such as sleep, fatigue, soreness, stress, and overall recovery. This gives coaches additional context when making training decisions and helps athletes learn why recovery is an important part of performance.

Elite Edge goes beyond workouts by helping athletes understand important performance habits such as proper nutrition, hydration, sleep, recovery, consistency, and preparation. Our goal is to help athletes develop habits that support both their training and long-term athletic development.

Yes. Physical performance is only one part of athlete development. Elite Edge also emphasizes confidence, discipline, resilience, accountability, focus, and competitive mindset. Mental performance education helps athletes better understand how to prepare for competition, respond to challenges, and build confidence in their abilities.

Elite Edge Coaches

Elite Edge has a multidisciplinary sports performance coaching staff with backgrounds in kinesiology, strength and conditioning, collegiate athletics, youth development, coaching, and sport performance. The coaching team includes experienced strength and performance professionals who have worked with athletes ranging from youth beginners to collegiate competitors.

Yes. Athletes may train alongside other athletes, but exercises, progressions, resistance levels, and coaching can be adjusted based on the individual athlete's development and ability. This allows athletes to benefit from the energy of a training group without assuming every athlete should perform exactly the same workout in exactly the same way.
